Well that was fun!! But the 6.0 had to be put to rest yesterday,, a very sad event . So I'm in the market. If anybody knows of a good 5.8- 6.2 wave sail that is less then 2 years old let me know. Brand-new maybe an option as well.

Hamburg, Those folks in Buffalo had grins from ear to ear at the end of the day yesterday putting three days in a row. I was fortunate to make it for two of them. Did anyone sail the pond yesterday? I was told it blew hard most of the afternoon. Carbon, Sorry about the destruction of the 6.0m sail but at least you wore it out thru use and not wave rash or storage. Speaking of busted gear Doug will be contacting you for some repair advice. His screamer is de-laminating over a large area on the bottom of the board. I gave him your number and gave him ideas for fixing it at home, seems he loves that board more than Owen. I celebrated my two days of sailing Hamburg with two cheeseburgers. Can't wait till it blows in the 4.5 range there. Missed this morning due to a early customer meeting H2O Rick

Doug here,
Yes, my trusted "yellow board" has a bit of a bubble on the bottom. It appears to be structurally sound however. No, the future rochester windsurfer (Owen) gets far more love than my yellow board, but as love goes (I do love that board) you take care of those that take care of you......and that board has done it's share for me and my sailing. I have a plan...and it does include calling the forum superhero named "Carbon".
Enough about me.
Doug, Joe, Ken, Bill, Rick, Greg, Kinger (although on the record he was working in Virginia), Art, Keith, Lynn (kiting) all scored at Hamburg on Monday. 5.8 to 5.2 was the general sail range. Consistent winds for a large chunk of the day. Big head/logo high swell on the outside. Smooth waves down at the boat launch. Parking lot was pretty full. Of 12 windsurfers, 9 were from Rochester...way to go guys! The number of kiters and windsurfers was fairly equal.......Boards were taking to the air, but the kite guys were skying!
Sounds like MikeyZ gave Cantheclubandaigua a try. Any report Z? Also, David left a Hamburg wrap up from Sunday in the "kitesurfing lessons "post. Mikey has his own write up about Friday and Saturday as a stand alone thread.

Hey Guys, I had some business down on Canandaigua and I brought my board just in case. I had planned on sailing up at Long Pond but I was promised 30mph gusts at The Club so I decided to wait. And wait I did. I got a couple of runs out and back on my 7.0; yes "out and back", it was blowing WSW. It wasn't a bad day (way better than sitting in a room with no windows); Canandaigua is beautiful and the water was warm, very clean, and clear, but I could have had a better sailing day had I just driven straight to The Pond.
That was three days of sailing in a row for me. It looks like Joe H. and company brought some of that Columbian River Gorge wind with them.

I just want to add that it was good to see Keith and Greg out on the water again. Good role models are hard to find and let's face it they sail almost as good as the women I saw in the Gorge. Also there is a strange rumor that the beach-goers at a certain beach south of Buffalo are being advised to wear helmets. That rumor is utterly false and should be put to rest. Remember since silence is the better part of discretion and discretion is the father of ambiguity then the less said the better. bucket head bill
