Holy hole in the gusty wind batman!
Used my 6m kite for the first time... popping to low 30s occasionally...last beautiful day of 2012 on the water. Many kiters and some sharks. Mark R. (former shark) did great kiting on Seneca today.

Sharks eh!?
For the record I believe Mark R to be a shark in sheep clothing. Or is "shark" a West Side Story reference? Does that make the kite crew "Jets"? Anyhow, how great was it to get out sailing in such warm weather this time of year?!
Windsurf/shark/pole riders headcount was 9. AWESOME. Superfreak guy, a moustached stranger that was no stranger to windsurfing, Scott, Joe, Bill, Art, Jim, H2O Rick, and myself. A bunch kites down near the beach as well. I heard a report that Lynn was out ripping it up. Did Jason manage a session most election? Glad to hear Mark got some good water time.
Genevan Brad is spot on with his Batman reference. Not much consistency to the wind today. I stopped and visited my sister at HWS after sailing, and she said a group of them were loving watching us ride out in front of the admissions building. So that's it for me for the season. Even tried a couple duck jibes. Lets find a way to get the groups together for some beers/ sodas, food, and surf/kite vids this winter. Windydoug

;D Oh yeah...a nice way to "end" the season. A floaty board and sailing overpowered kept me from being bother by the holes but provided entertaining moments of sheer terror in the gusts. It was great to be out again with all the guys including H2ORick (I missed Mark R. and Ken). But I post not for Joe's blogging entertainment but to send out a BIG thanks to Jeff for letting me try out his skinny setup with his 5.8 Superfreak when things got really honking. I threw it on my vintage 87l. Fanatic Mamba and was instantly in sailing heaven. Wow! Thanks! Now back to winterizing the gear....again! Chow!

Thanks to Brad for patiently working with me yesterday, and thanks to the support from my friends. I am so psyched to progress with kiting. Mark R., aka docheart, aka "kite boy wannabe"

Wow! Thanks! My pleasure. Glad it worked for you, as you had awfully forlorn look on your face when I came in to change fins! And it was much fun to see my own sail in action! Even if you were passing me. GEM
