Im experienced kiter looking to avoid potential doming effect of lake Erie. Where on Seneca do kiters go and how cold is the lake now? I won't let out any secrets Thx, Sal from Buffalo

Either the Chamber of Commerce or the State Park, both are located at the North end of the lake. The kiters seem to prefer the beach at the State Park. The park is free this time of year unless you are a Bills fan then you have to wear a bag over your head or they won't let you in. When you enter the park bear left and the beach is just before you get to the end on the eastern end. Seneca can have a dooming effect as well and unfortunately the sensor is down too, but the forecast is looking promising. Due south is THE direction at Seneca! The Buoy at the North end puts the water temp at 48 degrees f. I hope that helps. Hope to see you out there. If you see a windsurfer with a bag over his head that would be me.

Us fingerlakes kiters have very much appreciated the hospitality shown to us at Woodlawn this year and look forward to sharing our local knowledge if we see you here.

The meter is down! That is what I hear almost every time I have the time to go sailing. So since I have the day off on Monday how in the "Blazzing" do I find out what the wind is doing on Seneca? As far as 1footwilly is concerned we all know that he cannot sail with a bag on his head. We also know that when he posts here he is typically half-in-the-bag H2O Rick

I would argue with H2O authorityrick but I can't deny what he says has a wee bit of truth to it.
