MikeyZ wrote (from new pics on the web): ---------------------------------------------------------- David, Puerto Rico $250 round trip?? I am still trying to rebound after buying that Synchro off of you. But Puerto Rico for $250??? That is amazing. When is the trip? I have some things that need to be taken care of here at school and they have to be done by January, but after that I might be up for a little vacation.
Oh BTW I took down one of the paintings in my living room and put the synchro in its place. I am in love with the synchro. I pull it down sometimes and put on my floor and practice switching my feet. I am also thinking about putting a black dress on it and putting in the front seat of a red convertible and carting it around town to different bars and parties. David replied (from new pics on the web):
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes, $250 for PR, it was a 2 day special. I subscribe to about 4 airfare websites that send out deals. Tampa for $138 this week! Friggin cheap but I want some wind and Tampa hit or miss although the bay is awesome. Anyone up for a spring trip? I am free to go anytime. Vela? Texas? Mexico? Costa Rica? Lets travel...

Mikey Z- I don't know how to break this to you.....you really seem in love.......But, I think that your Synchro has been cheating on you..........Bill has been seen around town riding one (read into that) that looks just like yours but a little wider in the hips and tail. It seems he is really in love with it too. This could get ugly. I think your Synchro is pretty good looking as well....I hope we can still be friends. BTW (that means "by the way" for guys like Joe). Funny post above about your Synchro. I'm still laughing.
On the travelling front, I still look about 80% in for The Gorge at the end of June or beginning of July with "The Gorge Guys". Who else is gonna jump in? "The Gorge Guys" have an unbelievable ability to get wind in the Gorge.........Or the Gorge is just that good.

I would love to head to the gorge for a trip but that is all the way in June, when the water is at least accessible here. I want to head to wind and warm now. Florida seems like the cheapest "fast" trip to some warm although I hate Florida so I think I will make a re con trip down there and check it out after Santa comes. I would love to get a house in Hatteras in the spring with about 6 people, 2 vans, and a load of beer and boards. Houses are cheap in the spring and the wind is usually good. Anybody up for that or have any contacts in Hatteras? The snow kiting has been good in the Adirondacks and I am hoping we get some frozen water around here soon, Gas is $$$!

BTW David,
Good to hear from you. I was sure that when you said you were leaving that it meant you were gone for good. Side story, I had a parent of a kid (I"m a teacher) come up to me and say that a guy he worked with was a big windsurfer (didn't recognize his name, Peter something I think) and he had seen my pic on a website. That is pretty cool....completely outside of our community, and completely out of context at school. I'd love to go to Hatteras, but that might be going to the well to many times for me.

I was hoping for something more tropical but started thinking today that Hatteras in the Spring and The Gorge in July might be the way to go. I'd be glad to go in on a house. Gary

What about Texas? South Padre Island? Corpus Christi? Cheap to get there and average wind speed 18mph, flat water + waves,70 degrees. I will gladly go tropical. Hatteras is definitely the easiest and cheapest as far as housing and gear transport goes, 6 people and we could have a giant house for about $200/week each and sail our asses off. I have lots of time, just looking for partners who want to go to great spots and have non stop fun for 3-10 day trips. I am willing to plan as long as I get people. I can also find us a house but we need to decide on a week that is solid and reliable as far as the wind goes.

Windsurfing traveling dudes, I would love to go on a trip. I am however very poor and thus completely unreliable when it comes to committing to a trip. I might be able to go on the Hatteras trip and the Gorge trip. The Gorge trip might be good as well because I could go on some job interviews or possibly get a company to cover my air fair. I am hoping on getting a bunch of money in my tax return. I will have to do some research. Again everything is totally up in the air until I finish this project in January (I hope) and the dust clears in my bank account after Christmas.

Greetings From California!
We ended up in Laguna Beach. I plan to make many trips to Lake Isabella here in California during the summer. It is consistently one of the windiest places in the lower 48 (According to David).
I am going to the Gorge in 2009, if anyone wants to join me!

Matt-
So you are not here in Rah cha cha anymore!!?? Quitter! Happy sailing.
As far as the Gorge goes for next Summer, I should clarrify.... Joe, Mark, and Teddy were considering getting their house for a whole month next summer (2008) depending on employment status of each of them (well not JOE, we all know hes retired!). They have a couple extra spots, but can't host the whole Rochester Windsports team at once.

Nope. I moved to California, but I brought the warmth back for this week to vist my parents. Alan, Melissa and I plan to hit up a gorge in 2009.
I was in the airport christmas eve and saw a guy windsurfing on the niagra who had to be rescued. Anyone know who that was?
