Ed, Rick, Bill, Joe, Mark, Doug, and Ted. Durand was not sail able for those that preferred it, so we all were at Webster Park (Where you should really be in a West wind...or East Bay or??).
Ed was the early bird out getting overpowered on his 5.2, so he rigged down to 4.8. Rick was out next on a 5.2 and 85L Kode, and though we were leery of sailing this wind at Webster in the early spring cold, Bill and I followed on 5.2 and 95L. Bill and Doug headed in for smaller boards, and Joe headed out with Mark on 4.8 and 5.0. Ted arrived and rigged up his beauty new Naish and a 4.7 and blasted around for a good session. He finished up with a stylish but unplanned off the lip on his burn to shore.
Most everybody was on and off the water often ,warming hands or resting forearms. I personally tried to push the boundary to far and ended up in the water on the outside with forearms so fatigued I couldn't grasp the boom with my mitts. Yikes! drifted for a bit and stretched and eventually made it in to the corner behind the pier where Mark and Bill came to assist with my walk.
I would say that everybody looked comfortable out there, although......... I have seen underwear adds where the women appeared comfortable, but a person I know with first hand knowledge explained it was quite the opposite! Ha!
All in all, a couple exits from the creek, and a couple from behind the pier but no broken equipment for the crew. Rick sailed like a beast and was clearly on fire in his red Kokatat. Ed very smooth as well. Joe....magic, even with cold hands.
Exhausted,
