Happy New Year indeed.
Windkid Bill, Ontario Buoy Ken, Bob the Pharmacist, and I hit up Canandaigua and it's shallow depths for the sense of safety it provided in the chilly waters. Hence the "Chickendaigua" title.
The meter showed much excellence at Seneca and it sounds like Jason and Greg enjoyed it. Hope to hear more about that.
So anyhow, Canandaigua was gusty and a bit up and down, but none of us cared. Bob the pharmacist had a couple rigs put together and early on he was getting the best of it as the wind was dodgy. Bill rigged a 5.8 and his trusty 93L and Ken sailed his 5.5 and both a 100L board and a 150. I rode 5.8 on my new (to me) 95L '07 Fanatic Freewave and am fascinated by the differences between my older gear and this board.
Anyhow, it's unreal to think any of us were out sailing on January first. Did anybody at Seneca see the Rainbow. We did at Canandaigua, thanks Chuck Tanguay.

Glad to hear you guys got after it yesterday! No rainbow at Seneca but solid wind all day. Been working on strapless airs and it was amazing how much more predictably the board "sticks" to your feet with a solid breeze to support it. I still can't get over that we had sessions on January first.
Boy what a January it has been. Managed a survival sesh this afternoon at Montana with the 8m and five eight surfy. Direction never really cooperated and was barely able to get back to the channel after making a run down the line east of the jetty. Lynn, Chris and surfers Darrel (aka "speedbump") and Dave were there too enjoying yet another January beach day. Nothing special but just nice to be out. Aloha

This magical session just keeps getting better. Bill and Ken got some professional photo's of them published on the web from this session. See below. Fingerlakes 1 website (click on photo's) photos.fingerlakes1.com/index.phpA kitesurfer is in the first months of their year in photo's video. Not sure who though. Found it and added it at the bottomOnefootwilly Bill Bill from the Pier (yup, that's the bottom of his board!) Ontario Buoy Ken and Bill Kiter on Sodus Bay March 2011-from fingerlakes1.com

I managed to get a hold of one of the photographers from this day and he posted a gallery to his smugmug account. He is a very talented photograher named Aaron Winters, and coincidentally he caught Jason Gordon kiting a few days ago on Irodequoit Bay (In Aarons sport gallery on his webpage). Anyhow the gallery is password protected, so use the password "Doug" (capital D) to view it in the "Shoot Request" gallery on his webpage. Highlights include Bill and Ken both showing a some fin while under sail. www.aaronwintersphotography.com/then shoot requests, then Rochester Wind Sports, then password is "Doug". Wd
