I begrudgingly rode to Hamburg yesterday needing a day of solitude on the water. Sunny and reasonably warm weather made motivating to rig (8m with 5'8" tri-fin), for what turned out to be a solo session, a bit easier. And boy was it worth it. Not sure the exact wind direction (WSW?) but the waist to head high waves were rolling in with more organization than I've ever experienced. Especially downwind of the jetty where I was able to link together 5-6 turns on one wave (a first for me surf kiting). Booyah!
The real question remains "where were all the windsurfers"? :)
