After yesterday my whole body was sore, I decided to take the ibuprofen before sailing and even clipped my toenails to ward off impending and dreaded ....black toe. Tip of the day; if you've got holes in the end of your booties, check your toenails! Anyway, sailing was not like yesterday and sometimes more work than fun as winds were gusty and shifty. One minute you can't water start and the next you're flung over the boom into your sail. I hit the sail so hard at one point I drove the tip of the mast into the muck bottom. Thank god there were several layers of mylar tape already holding the clear panel together. Think I know how that tape got there. I brought another celebratory Salvator double bock for today's session but left it alone not feeling totally deserving of it.

Hey, hey, wait a minute!!!!!! What are you insinuating with that mylar tape wisecrack Mongrel!!?? I have been known to get launched from time to time, but that is what happens when I sail like I'm believing I can jump and jibe. Actually, the huge sheet of repair material on the window was applied at Sailworks (professionally, no less....) to toughen up (it was never a failure) a nose ding/rub area from the previous owners years of enjoyment, the tape above the batten is from ah, well, ah, okay I probably got launched there (at E Bay I believe). Hard work today at the pond to be sure. Mark R. deserves the iron man sailing award but even he was frustrated by blown jibes and wind shutting off faster than a lightbulb. Good luck to those attacking the Monday wind, back to work (Ken's laughing if he read that) for me. Doug
