I know, I know, how could I not drive to Hamburg for all that awesome swell riding goodness......
Sailed Long Pond with Gary, Art, Scott, Steve (sailed his butt off), Ed and at least 3 kites.
Art hit it right with a 5.8 and then quickly to a pre-rigged 5.2. He was way up wind and flying. Scott (skymongrel) was blazing on his cambered 5.4 and Fanatic Mamba and Gary and I were each out on 5.2. The wind varied and for a while there was something for everyone (that's my new thing for "the wind was up and down").
Steve arrived mid-afternoon and held down the big sail of the day with a 6.0 while exploded in a gust chasing him on my 5.2.
It was interesting to see a couple kites water launch down in the corner, it worked. They went up to the middle of the pond and all was good. At one point one of the kite guys showed some good courtesy/goodwill and held is kite still in the air while one of us sailed by downwind of the kite in close quarters.
Ed Schmitt arrived as the wind was waining and somehow managed to squeeze a session out of the wind (meaning the guy is legend and can walk on water).
I can't remember her name, but a woman who was featured in the D and C years ago sailing Long Pond was there as well but I am not sure if she sailed or not.
Additionally, Art pointed out what appeared to be a father son team interested in getting into windsurfing.
I got some photos and will try to get them up in a couple days.
Sounds like Kinger and Greg B. were at Hamburg.....what was it like there?
