Day 1
Light winds. We sailed Swell City late in the afternoon. Joe and Ted were on a 5.2, Ken and I were on 5.5's. Sailed a few hours and then hit Doug's for a late day session and a cold beer. Surrounded by the stunning beauty of Gorge all day and hanging with members of our tribe from all over the world. The morning was spent shopping for Rick. Met Bruce Peterson along the way. Ken got some pictures that I will try and post later.

Kid,
Day 1 looked great based on the picture & the shopping of day 2 is greatly appreciated. I have been keeping an eye on the cameras daily & I've never seen so much rain & clouds in the gorge corridor since Jones arrived, I hope you guys went east for the better winds.
Meeting Bruce Peterson the owner & designer from Sailworks is always a fun stop during the trip, and if you ask the right questions he can help you improve the rigging of you sails.
I still need a 400cm RDM (reduced diameter mast) so the shopping is not finished for Rick yet, after all I need to keep up with Joe.

That's great news!
I'm still stuck in Rochester.
Windkid has graciously been giving me updates by text when he gets a chance. Sounds like it has been good times so far.

Monday's report. Looked forward to wind, but the recent pattern held and we had moderate winds late in the day. Ken and I dropped by Promotion for some much needed spring suits. Crossed the street to Full Sail Brewery on a quest for a large t-shirt and came up extra large. Sailed Swell City on a 5.5 late in the day for awhile. Earlier Ken and I went to the Event Site were Ken tested his new suit but was unable to sail due to no wind. We are hoping for some real wind today but the forecasts are mixed. Everyone is thrilled that Mark is heading out, great news!

Woke up, Joe booked it to Swell City before I downed my first coffee. Caught up with him later and sailed 5.5 on a nice easy swell. Ken and I hit the road later and checked out Rowena. Same sail, less current, more river, candy everywhere. Ken "da man" Jones rigged a 6 and his Naish 105 Nitirx and ripped the river all smiles. Beer o'clock arrived late as the session continued. Joe, Ted, and Chuck sailed at Swell until 6. Good day, no worries.

I don't know why that shot is so small, but in any case that's Jones on a 4.7 at Rowena doing the sweet weaves throught the swell. We got there about 11 and sailed until 5. I started with a 5.5, 94 liter board, then the same sail with the 85 liter board, and finished with 4.2. Ted and Chuck went to Doug's. I don't have data on Joe and Mark. Perfect day of sailing, great people, about 40 on the water on at all times.... later. How was Hamburg!

Sunshine, swell and sweet vibes at swell all day long. Ken killed a demon and sailed a 5.5 on his Goya. Doug, Ken and I all sailed 5.5. Joe and Mark sailed 4.7. Mark played the river like a fretboard nailing every Jibe I witnessed...Delightful! Only downside was Ted who was nursing a swollen foot and was sequestered on shore with his HD boom cam doing a weird walk about youtube rif.

Shock and awe J.K. almost died at Hamburg. Glad you made it to shore my wind whipped friend. No wind today at the Gorge so Ken and I hiked up Dog Mountain to raise our hands out in a wide embrace of a three mountain panorama, toasted Amy Winehouse and my birthday before we descended. Mark and Joe were drying out their 4.2's and 4.8's at home. Sucks to be in heaven but we'll deal with it.

Late day at Swell, 5.5, then 6. The view was better than the wind. Tomorrow's forecast looks better, our fingers are crossed.

Joe and Mark were sailing 4.2 at Swell City. Ken and I booked it to Rowena for the sun and the sites. Best 3.7 I ever had. Packing up for home, and Hamburg. Good times, great friends.

A little update on Ted's swollen foot. He emailed Mark his ex rays from Rochester. Turns out he had three fractured metatarsals. Ted toes we call it. Anyway here's hoping for a fast and successful recovery for one of our own.
