Ugh, that fantastic forecast from yesterday has been slowly dwindling. I'd planned on Seneca but its looking like Hamburg would be the best chance of not staring at glassy water.
I'll prob leave around 10 or 11 & I want to be back by 5, give me a call if you want to carpool.

Brent, sorry I missed you at Hamburg.
It was a little light from about noon till 2. Then I dropped my car off down at Woodlawn and 4 of us did a downwinder. The wind picked up quite a bit about half way down so we took over 2 hrs to get down there.
All and all, it was a pretty good day!

No Problem Kel! I did make it there and was looking to say hi but its been a couple years since I've seen you in person, I couldn't pick you out right away. I got there around 1 & was greeted by a standoffish jacked dude who had me wondering if I belonged there. His buddy was super nice though so I blew up my 11 & the big guy gave me a launch after a couple questions (know what you're doing? been here before? Stay out of swim area!) He got friendlier as the right answers came out & I know he's just trying to protect that golden spot they have. The 11 wasn't doing it so I blew up my 13 about the time you guys took the car to the other beach. I got to meet Ken in between kites who was fun to talk to and made me feel a little more welcome! Unfortunately he didn't demonstrate how he got the name Ontario Buoy. The 13 was a blast and I got yet again higher than I've ever been! I'm getting a lot more comfortable jumping but my landings seem to be getting inversely worse! Luckily its only water (famous last words). I ended up talking to the guy with the Naish Cults who turned out to be a lot of fun. He's from Toronto and somehow made it across the boarder without a passport, hopefully they let him back in. One of the windsurfers had told me about your downwinder so we joked about not getting the invite, if that poor guy isn't allowed back in his own country his country it'll be like high school all over again I do have a problem I need help with...my center strut is losing air quickly. Think I'll start a new thread for it. Thanks for the invite though, I probably would not have gone if you hadn't set the idea in my head! FYI I did get home in time to take my kid to Harborfest so it was a good day and one I'm glad we didn't carpool on. I am sorry I missed out on the post session Micky Rats beer though!

Hey,
Glad to hear you had a good time! Yes, they are pretty careful about making sure people know what they are doing there, and for good reason.
I still get looks when I am flying my 14m and everyone else is on 10s or smaller.
Yes, it was good decision not to car pool. We didnt finish the downwinder till 5pm and I thought I was going to puke after riding for so long without a break. But very happy I made the trip there!
Bladder repair is pretty easy. Even easier with 2 sets of hands. Lots of info if you google it. Give me a call if you still have questions. 315 955-2197
