Charlotte 6/14?!

Wow 2 days in a row! I self launched my 15 from the outlet around 6:30 last night using this technique After being involuntarily lifted off the water twice I decided to pack it up. I had to flag it which resembled the late Steve Irwin wrestling an angry croc...remember when he put the top-jaw rope on and the thing spiralled like crazy? It wasn't easy but I got it down and my wife had come to watch so she untangled my lines while I blew up my 11.

The 11 was perfect for a good 15 or 20 min and then the wind slowly started to dwindle. I was smart enough to stop before I had to swim back and I got to go home to a decent dinner with the wife and kid so I would call it a success! I also logged my highest, smoothest jump yet...I don't think anyone could see me from the other side of the pier but I'm definitely a little more comfortable every time.

Tonight the 2 Chris's (who don't use the forum) are heading to Charlotte. They went last night and didn't get chased off. Would be great for new guys b/c they are friendly and like to teach. Plus Charlotte will offer plenty of room and if the wind blows NE the pier will provide some calm water. I'm hoping to go but it will be a stretch. I'm also worried the wind will die by the time I get out of work (or rather step foot on the beach) but the techi-er of the 2 Chris's says its not going to die till 8.

I feel its important to let Rick know I did not go to the beach today because I knew there wasn't enough wind. This stemming from a winddummy joke made last year! (All in good fun)

I don't care about the wind dummy comment but I do care that you used the phrase "your secret spot" when I've been launching there since before the pier was built. Perhaps we should call it "The Secret Spot"

I did launch there late on Sunday sailed well when the wind was up. Miller arrived so I came back into shore to help him put his kite up. Wind backed off a bit by that time, I made a few more runs then came to shore & waited to land Millers kite. He on the other hand lost his board upwind I went back out to find it but was looking in all the wrong places down wind. He went back out with a second board located the first one so I took it back to shore for him as the wind dropped right off the charts.

Glad you are getting more time on the board and more time in the air jumping. Highest & smoothest landing jump? NICE JOB!

:The past two weeks have been 2%$*!!! with Charmaine and I moving, yes moving from Palmyra to Webster.....We just really needed to be closer to our Buddies Dan And Rick!
The good thing is I am now only 15 Minutes from Webster Park....even though there is no wind to enjoy!

Sorry about the wind guys, thats my fault; After being overpowered by my 15 and under by my 11 I bought a new-to-me 09 13M Waroo...hasn't been decent wind since!

From what I've read they changed the waroo in 2010 so the 09 is the newest kite I could buy that would line up with my 08 15m & 09 11m. I found one on a Massachusetts Kite Forum (by googling) that had never been used.

I debated buying a lightwind board instead of the kite thinking it would make up for being underpowered on the 11 and give me a little lower wind range on the 15 but I found the kite before I could find the board (jimmy lewis flight deck). So next summer I will go after the board and I'll be sure to post so you can plan your non-wind activities from the day the board arrives.
