Work has me in Hamburg tomorrow from 6-7pm. Forecast looks good so I'm thinking about bringing my gear. Any problems with showing up at 7:30 and getting an hour in? I know its a park, does it close?

Not sure if the park closes, but we sometimes go out to a little spot south of Wendt Beach Park. Nice beach area, but it's rocky in the water near the shore, so I wear a helmet.
There's usually not many people here, so we've been going there to practice - to avoid getting in people's way, embarrassing ourselves or risking any potential "bystander issues."
We've seen other, more experienced kiters out here as well.
Basically, take 5 all the way down past Highland on the Lake, take a Right on Sturgeon Point Road, take a left on Lake Shore Road, follow it to the right as it bends around the end of the park, then take a right on Wendt Rd. and park at the little area at the end...

Should be no big deal! Just make sure that you go far enough up wind to launch and rig. Nice huge swell....you'll be hooked on the place. I have developed a stress tick this year since I have missed 3-4 epic days there (and heard about it from Ontariobuoy, 38 stickers entertaining messages, and 1footwilly). It is just too far to drive this year with a new babe at home.
