Some of us remember the Coast Guard coming out to graciously rescue a few members of RWS not so long ago (and the news story that was inflated more than my kite) so I thought I'd return the favor and aid in the missing swimmer search last night.
With 10-15mph NW winds & my 15m I was able to cover a grid about 1/2 mile wide by 1/2 mile out starting at the Bay Outlet and heading East. I was able to get a birds eye view from about 8 feet (my highest jump yet!) but no swimmer in sight. I also looked underwater twice with my face but the visibility was bad so I decided to drag my body a few zigzags lines instead (on way back to board!).
I'm sure I was as useful to them as they were to us so I plan to help out again just as soon as the weather cooperates!

Ha! Brent....an eight foot jump?? You are progressing really nicely! From, The self rescuing (with some help from friends) yet grateful, coast guard practice buoy.

Nice on the jump Brent! Looks like Friday might be good for Durand...of course, that will change. Might be some opportunities at Seneca during the week...
