Who's going where?!
I'll prob leave my house at 11:30 & head to the East side of the Bay outlet if I don't hear from anyone. Durand will be packed, I'm only going there if I know I have help.
I have time to do Fairhaven if its worth the drive!

Brent,
What have you been riding? Do I remember you have a 15m Waroo? I'm still saving for a larger kite.
What are others riding? I have seen 16m's and a few 14m's.

2008 15 & 11 waroos on a 155 cm Best bar (09 I think). Board is a 140 Sparks. I'd like to pick up a 13m waroo but I think a lightwind board is next on my list. Been reading about the 155cm Spleen...not as big as a door but should should be a big help below 15mph. Theres one on ebay for a halfway decent price.
I've seen people compare the 14 Switchblade to the 15 Waroo. Unless you plan on vacationing with it I think you should sell your 7 & pick up a 14 or possibly a bigger Contra. I doubt I'll ever go over 15, thats just a huge kite and I'll probably pick up the wakeboard instead on a day like that.

The 7/12 was the perfect 2 kite tango for the Gorge and I plan on traveling back there but they do have some 15m Revs for ~400 complete.
I agree with big kites. Like I have said before, after launching a 20.5m Machine, landing it was the only thing worse. I can't imagine relaunching one that's wet :{ I also have a 16m C kite that I don't think I'll ever fly again. I never could get it tuned it right.

Got totally skunked Saturday. There was plenty of wind but it was too far South. I think the trees on the West side of the Outlet blocked the wind enough to convince me to put up a 15 but once I got it up there it kept lifting me off the ground.
So I dropped it and blew up my 11 only to have way too many boaters anchor close by. The side-offshore wind was gusty, I'm guessing do to the trees, so I did the smart thing & packed up. Difficult decision b/c I knew there was wind out there but there just wasn't a safe way to get to it.
Sunday needed some family time so I dropped the boat in the water & got the wakeboard out. That plan was going great untill I ruptured my eardrum on a fluke fall during my last session of the day. Wife says 2 months w/o submerging my ear...I say who knows where I can get a heavy duty earplug?! Any input would be much appreciated(field experience?)! The guy I was riding with has done it twice and said it got infected both times despite antibiotics in drop form and pill form but he was riding in Long Pond. I was in Irondequiot Bay near the Bayside.

Just start the 2 months off in November ;D
I know surfers wear plugs all the time. Check those forums for ideas. I'll post back if I find something.

Dr recommended something waxlike you can buy at the Aquatic Center in Henrietta. I found some threads with people using silly putty, but that was mostly in the UK!
I need the wax to preserve the rubber cuffs on my drysuit anyway so I plan on stopping by the aquatic center. Then I'll try both & see what works!
