I know only a handful of people use the forum on a daily basis, but 30 or so unique users "visit" each day, but I have to think that the website and this discussion area are helping to spread the stoke and interest in windsurfing and kitesurfing in Rochester. Anyhow, it was great to see so many people out enjoying the wind yesterday. I only knew a handful of the guys. I guess that is a good thing though.......more people out "doing it" than you can keep track of.........
So, when I see a person I don't know I'm gonna shake hands, share the stoke, and give em the web address rochesterwindsports.com. Maybe you can do the same?
If I'm being pushy, push back. I don't want to be a buzz kill.

Doug,
I think that's a great idea and I try to introduce myself to any kiters, windsurfers, etc. I find on the beach when I go out. I'm still working on the basics, so I'm always glad to help launch/land and am always open to suggestions, advice, etc.
The kiting community seems to be more open to input than many extreme sport communities I've been involved with. Not sure if it's due to less ego, more communication needed regarding rigging, wind, conditions, etc. but it's nice to see.
Anyway, it's great to see so many people involved/getting involved and people willing to offer advice to help prevent injury to other kiters, spectators, etc.
