Wondering if Sodus has an advantage over Durand & Montana in a West wind. I know East Bay is the place to be but I'm not sure I'm ready for the sketchier launch (for kiters). That and the longer drive...every minute counts when the forecast is looking good for a Thursday evening session!

Rider, If you let me know where you go Thurs. I'm still learning sensors here and have not returned to iKite though I may have too Watching NOAA for some wind. I'm working on a ski for support and wakebording for light wind. It would have been great for Seneca last weekend. Do you or others have a boating license?

Sodus is not better than Ebay. Sketchy is the word I would use for that launch, screw the pooch there and your buying a new kite. Webster is actually a better launch than Ebay...

Ok then I'm headed out at 1...Durand if anyone wants to come or the E side of Irondequiot Bay outlet if I'm solo (lot more room for self launching).
My number is 585-733-2440, shoot a text or give me call if you can come. I'll check the forum again before I leave too.
Ed, I have my boaters license...how quickly I can find it might be another story but I'll rock your ski or we can drop my boat in the water...ski boat though so we can't drop it in in 4 footers.

Seneca crossed my mind too...I think Lynn said its rideable in a West wind. I'm worried it won't turn North enough for Durand. Thoughts & professional (or dilusional) opinions appreciated!

Think I will trek to Fair Haven...I don't get days off very often, don't want to mess it up.

How did the winds work out? I was going to go out, but, by the time I left work, it seemed to have died down some and gotten more gusty.
Anxious to get back out though...maybe next week...

I had a good time at Seneca from about 1pm to 3:30. Started with the 4.7 on 76 liters from the park in a gusty SW flow that got steadier, though not so strong. I spent the rest of the afternoon on a 5.6 and 101 liters. I would probably have been happier 5.3 and 85l but didn't mind using up all my strength 'cause I knew I only had a couple of hrs then back to work. It was Sweet and Sunny and somehow didn't mind the solo session to pound my thoughts in order. Cop got good Fun as the Wind swing out of the West. Even got steadier as it began turning NW. Ahh...Yeah Life!!

IDK - I was kiting Thursday (9meter) and Friday (Big Setup) - Were You Guys? - The major problem here is that the waves are so disorganized that the riding is typically slow. You can ride behind the pier if you want some glass, but there is no room for error. In addition, the pier traps a lot of seaweed, so the shore can be pretty thick if we have not had a south wind in awhile. If you crash your kite, it is usually best to wind up your bar off shore. That will save you hours of deseaweeding. I am really trying to downplay the spot because I have never seen anyone else riding here. If you want to give it a try, go way up wind and you will be fine. Does anyone want to carpool to Southwick Monday morning about 8:00?
