Good vid Doug, an old one but a good one. Classic mistake keeping your kite at 12 on land. THis happened when a thermal came and lofted him and if you notice the small mountains in the background of the vid that is what kept him up. I heard an interview with the guy and he said he was unhooked for the first 150 feet! Yikes! Anyway, that is a C shaped kite. Modern SLE's or Bow's are completely depowered when the bar is out making things a lot safer. I am neutral in this debate and I love to both kite and sail but I can say that doing both has increeased my time on the water a lot.
BTW if anyone has been nervous about kites in the past and wants to check out how much safer they are now just stop me when I'm out and I will show you. We are all out there for the wind and those of you who have windsurfed for a long time might be happy to go back to being a "learner" again. Let it blow ;D DL!

Doug,
You lose control of the board I think I fell in once jibing around MikeyZ; but tonight skiing I didn't fall.
still no one going to claim the mast foot universal left at Durand Durand on Saturday?
And another thing I don't think you will find a 410cm mast typically the sizes go 480, 460, 430, 400 that is what I have unless it is one of Jonesy custom cut 430's look for the saw marks along the bottom.
