Barring any significant lake snow, and hoping the ice freezes before a little snow we might be getting out on IBay this weekend. I'm also curious about Mendon Ponds Park, has anybody been by there lately and seen folks on the ice?
Stay tuned. WD

I got a message from Bill this morning that when he went by the big pond (100 acre pond?) at Mendon Ponds Park their were a couple guys out ice fishing.
So: That would mean that their is a way out to good ice from shore. I'm not sure how much lake snow is/has fallen out there, but I was in Victor this morning and it was much less than we had in Fairport. That is a pretty big pond out there so I'm hopefull that the ice fishermen wont ruin all the ice.
If you are in the area give it a look and give a report. Thanks. Doug

A quick MOnday Feb. 1 update.
Rick got out on I Bay yesterday for an hour. He commented that the ice had its tough area's where it was chunky, but that it was overall good. I heard rumor that Jason was heading out to Long Pond with some sort of snowboard with blades set up for some kiting. If the wind is over 12 mph after 3 today I'm heading to I Bay with two boards. You have to bring your own rig though and a one bolt style universal. Windydoug

I Bay had some clear ice mixed with chunky snow/ice spots and drifts. IF you can weave around all that stuff it wasn't bad. I'm hoping the sun will smooth away some of the rough spots by the weekend. WD
