I was looking on google maps tonight and noticed that Braddock Bay/Cranberry Pond area looked to be shallow which would make it freeze fast during the winter.
Anyone ever snowkite these areas? How is the wind? Are they too protected? (i.e. bad wind?)
Thanks in advance!

I believe that in the past people have been know to get out on Long Pond. The snowmobilers and ice fishermen can screw that ice up in a hurry though. I get out on my freeskate at about the same location as Brent (rider1200) on his kite.

I have ridden Cran, Brad, and LP and they are all pretty bad. Long pond is the best bet but only in S, SW wind. Brad is OK in a N, NW but it gets a lot of standing water under the snow unless its but ass cold so cannot recommend. I have also been to Mendon Ponds which is good in multi directions including W, but still not stellar.

Looks like I will be heading up to The Bay this winter.
There are also some large fields near me in Spencerport that I would like to try out.
