A few photos from Brad Maxwell who was at Webster Sunday 10/11/09 www.flickr.com/photos/north_coast_wind/I broke a mast very early and Brad happened to capture it on film. Yes even Rick Griffin can spend as much time "in" the water as "on" the water like our buddy Ontario Buoy it was a little of a swim. Thanks to all who helped pluck me from the Lake and thanks to Joe who happened to have a 430 mast in his truck (because he went skinny) so $100 later I was back in the straps. 5.0m to 5.8m was the call on 85 l boards Miller, Scorza, Woodams, and short board Joe all saved gas and sailed Webster. H2O (swimmer) Rick

Don't feel bad Rick, I was in the water too. On my first burn back towards the beach at EBay I snapped my boom clamp line after cresting a wave. I heard a loud bang and was off the board, the boom dropped to the mast base and I thought I had broken my boom. I found the spare line I keep in my harness and attempted to thread it through...no go. Ended up tying it to the mast and limped in after 20 min in water.
