Lynn said Seneca is doable in a West wind but it sounded like it wasn't the best. And I'm guessing if the wind shifts North it will pretty much end your day.
Could Sodus work in a West wind? Is there any place in Pultneyville to launch? I know they have a decent sized park there but I don't know what the shore is like.
Do Windsurfers go to East Bay instead of Sodus Point because the Point is somewhat protected?

Are Windsurfers/Kites allowed in Fairhaven State Park? On that huge sandy beach?!

Whoa Brent let your kite bar out.....so many questions. You should have tried windsurfing, it is way easier. Laughs! Did you get out this past weekend?
I'm fairly certain that Patrick V. kites out in Sodus. As a matter of fact H2O Rick has sent me screen captures from the weather bug camera of a kiter out at Sodus on a West wind. Kiting upwind of the pier. You are right on about the windsurfers heading to EBay for a west wind, I think just like Durand you get a little shadow on a west. It may be less pronounced in Sodus....Patrick and any others chime in here. I have windsurfer Fairhaven once with Windkid (Bill) and Ken the builder. That was in April though. Lynne heads out there a bit I believe.
As far as your Pultneyville question, I am not sure. Hope that helps....and I hope I didn't hog the response from anybody with better knowledge than me. Doug

Hey Doug Thanks for including me. Sodus point is very kiteable, but some people have had problems with our pier, trees, seaweed, and whatever else gets trapped in the corner, so come out and enjoy. It will get better nowadays as Fall is promising. I can usually get out here from 270 to 90. Sometimes south to southeast works on our bay, but that is usually not strong enough. usually if there is South, I have to go to Seneca or head east. For example, the wind was not hitting shore here Sunday, so I had to go east. There are a couple of spots between here and oswego, and then there are more off Route 3, depending how far South the wind is. I am sure that we get pretty similar winds to Webster Park here at Sodus. For ex. I was able to kite until sunset last wednesday, and I read that Webster was good at that time too. I have only ever seen one guy killing it on a windsurfer here. The wind was pretty far north at 25 - 30mph. On those days, I am sure you guys have good conditions at Durand, Montana, and Webster, so you probably wouldn't want to make the trip.
