Doug,
Nice meeting you Saturday. I am hoping to get out this weekend.
The main page of rochesterwindsports.com does not load the graphics in Mozilla Firefox. I looked at it with the one of the IT guys at my company. He thinks that the Z-Index you are using in your html code is messing it up in Firefox. I think the Zindex decides which pictures are on top. You may want to try using only positive Z-index values. I think this may correct the problem.
Nice pictures on flickr, thanks for posing them Doug. Windsurfing near a windmill farm has to give you the confidence to expect good winds most of the time.

Hey Matt,
Yeah, I have heard stuff like that before. I am not sure about the Z index unless you are talking about Mikey Z's ability to affect the wind in a positive or negative way depending on his choice of sail size. Not too computer literate when it comes to web-programming. The web page was created using MS Word...so the issue is probably one of a Microsoft proprietary product with certain nuances unique to it that will not work with Firefox. No ability to fix it at this time, so explorer is the way to go when viewing the page. Sorry. Doug

Mikeyz affecting the wind through his choice of sail size??? It is actually that weird wind dance that he does before bed every night jug jaja jug jaja jug ....
Did anybody notice that it is blowing 18 ENE at Durand right now. Lyn says the waves are setting up nice. Maybe I will make a mad dash down to the beach after school around 430 or 5 ish.

Hey guys, I met a couple of you last year at Webster Park, which is my favorite place to snap sunset pix. I have also enjoyed taking pictures of you guys jumping the waves when I see you there. I figured I would try to share some pictures with you. I have uploaded a bunch to Flickr. I will load more at the start of each month (they allow 100MB/month for free). I will group them by the date. You guys will have to figure out who is who in the pictures. If you would like them labeled, tell me picture # and what to write. If anyone would like the high resolution (approx. 3MB each) files of these, just send me a note and I will get them to you. www.flickr.com/photos/north_coast_wind/Keep Flying High Brad Maxwell Penfield

Hey, the wind was great today at Durand. I was on the water from 6:45 - 9:15 full power on a 13m kite, wind on my meter was 16-23 mph and the swell outside was 4-5 feet. The waves were big but pretty wierd since the current was moving W > E and the wind was blowing E > W; made some steep peaked faces and nice peelers inside occasionally. Went back about 11:30 - 3:00 and it was up and down 13 - 19; rode a 16m and my 5'11" surfboard for some fun. Lyn, Kel, Joe, Chris (for a ride) and me were the only ones there so it was pretty nice. Dawn patrol has netted me more riding time this year than afternoons so all you working folk take note. You can get a nice 2 hr session in and still be to work by 10:00. Looks like Seneca is going to be good this weekend. Would be nice to get a 20 knot S, SW. BTW Hamburg was an interesting sight this past weekend with just about every Rochester sailor and not many locals (at least while I was there), is 35 + too casual for them?

Shutterbug, Glad to have you join and share with us! Great pics....Rick will love them. Sailors, If you look at the 2007 album on shutterbug's site, and you select slideshow during I believe Pete Woodams jump, it is a progression. Click through the slideshow quickly and it takes on a video quality. Probably need high speed conection. IF anybody is good at photoshop, it would be cool to see those pics blended into one photo. Any takers? WD

Tomorrow looks like it is going to be another good day out on the water. Hamburg should be awesome. The Pond should be not as disgusting as it was this summer, close to home, and good enough. The further sites to the east, Canandaigua/Seneca, look like they won't be as windy as the other sites.

Where is everyone headed tomorrow and Sunday. Wunderground + Noaa + Intellicast are looking good for Geneva tomorrow afternoon out of the SW. Supposed to be in the mid teens - 20's with some gusts from 2 - 8 pm. Anyone headed to Hamburg? Looks like it will be fully lit in the afternoon over there with gusts into the 40's again according to NOAA... I am free if anyone wants to travel but going out Saturday night so I need to be home around 6-6:30 ish... NW Sunday with possible WNW, anyone want to head over to Hamlin if Durand is no good?

Guys,
I've been phoned by both Lynn & Dan Scorza regarding the repeat forecast for Hamburg tomorrow. Joe Hurburt I'm told is also planning on making the trip. Dick Miller's van will be packed also however he won't know until he phones me after his dinner out with his wife.
David,
I'm in for Webster Sunday but a much different temperature scheme.

Ha, you guys should get some kites to ride in winter. I traveled to the adirondacks and rode on frozen water and great snow. 2 - 3hr sessions, AWESOME! Anyone want to travel to Puerto Rico in a couple weeks? $250 round trip...

David, Puerto Rico $250 round trip?? I am still trying to rebound after buying that Synchro off of you. But Puerto Rico for $250??? That is amazing. When is the trip? I have some things that need to be taken care of here at school and they have to be done by January, but after that I might be up for a little vacation.
Oh BTW I took down one of the paintings in my living room and put the synchro in its place. I am in love with the synchro. I pull it down sometimes and put on my floor and practice switching my feet. I am also thinking about putting a black dress on it and putting in the front seat of a red convertible and carting it around town to different bars and parties.

Yes, $250 for PR, it was a 2 day special. I subscribe to about 4 airfare websites that send out deals. Tampa for $138 this week! Friggin cheap but I want some wind and Tampa hit or miss although the bay is awesome. Anyone up for a spring trip? I am free to go anytime. Vela? Texas? Mexico? Costa Rica? Lets travel... ;D
