It's windy right now at Montana. Very good kiting. 15 - low 20's. Water is still cold but don't need gloves or a hood. I ripped my drysuit so apparantly it is now warm enough for a full wetsuit also.
Tomorrow looks like another thermal potential. Thur and Fri bothhave west wind potential.

Thanks for sharing the local wind knowledge that Iwind/kite doesn't seem to have. I was going to take a nap, and go out for an early dinner like some of the retired guys that got out at Long Pond last week. Ha! WD

Hello - Glad to see people have survived the icy waters. Is Montana on the east side of the channel? I would like to check that out. This evening we had ESE 10-15 in Sodus. So, what direction was it at Montana? Can you ride on a slight south wind due to the bay? Looks like it might blow counterclockwise throughout the day on Thursday? Where do you park? Any information would be appreciated. Although I will probably end up riding here, Webster is only about 20 minutes from my work. Thanks

Pat,
Montana is on the west side of the outlet adjacent to the pier, so you'd have to drive over the bay bridge. There is a little parking lot at the end of the road where the seasonal bridge is stored. Not sure about S winds, but the bay seems to enhance the NE wind around this time of the year. As it was described to me by H2O Rick, The Bay sucks wind off the lake making it stronger. Doug
