Alright Guys and Amanda, so today my advisor walked into my office and said something to me and my officemate. We said something back. Then he got down on our office floor and did a one-arm pushup with perfect form. Boooo yaaaa! Yup! The man is smart, he is strong, and he knows how to harness the power of the moustache. Now seeing that many of the readers of this forum experienced the sixties, seventies, and eighties you are all familiar with the amount of power stored in the mythical moustache. If you have forgotten or need a reminder just have a look at Rick Griffin or Ken Jones. Both of these fellas have moustaches, they are both into man’s work (picking up trees and picking up houses), and they both sail hard and fast while holding down big sails in big wind.
Why does all this matter? Well basically, when your advisor is twice as old as you are, twice as smart as you are, twice as strong as you are, and windsurfing season is about to start up, you have got to make a couple of lifestyle changes. For me this means it’s time to get strong! Now, I have no moustache; I could grow one but I don’t know if it would fit with my euro/hybridhipster/badassMC fashion mojo. This means I am gonna have to train. I therefore present to you “Training With Z”. Training With Z has two rules. The first one is important since I am pretty insecure about my own coolness and masculinity, so number 1) Train like a man. 2) Get sore.
So what are we gonna do this week to Train With Z? Pushups workouts! Here is the workout. 1) Subtract five from the maximum number of pushups you can do. 2) Do that number of pushups. 3) Wait exactly 1 minute. 4) Do as many pushups as you can. 5) Wait exactly 1 minute. 6) Do as many pushups as you can. 7) Rinse and repeat until you can no longer do a push up. 8) Do this workout multiple times a day for at least two weeks. 9) Get strong.
