It's sad to have learned that Lynn Davis's father has recently passed away.
Davis, William T.
Charlotte: February 4, 2009. Age 90. Survived by his wife of 68 years Lois; sons Ralph & Lynn, both of Rochester; daughters, Joann (Onesimo) Perez & Marilyn (Richard) Matthews, both of El Cajon, CA; grandchildren, Terri (Stanley) Valenti of Farmington, NY, Patrick (Marina) Davis of Santa Clara, CA, Kevin (Megan) Davis of Pittsford, NY, Melinda Davis of Rochester, Nicholas Bonacci of Newport Beach, CA, Sarah (Jesse) Hamilton of Long Beach, CA, Allison Matthews of El Cajon, CA; eleven great-grandchildren; many dear relatives and friends.
Bill retired Kodak as an Industrial Engineer. He was very active in the Charlotte Community, especially with the Charlotte Genesee Lighthouse and Turning Point Park. His research of local history led him to teaching local history, especially at School #6.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Charlotte Genesee Lighthouse, 70 Lighthouse St., 14612, or Lake Avenue Baptist Church, 78 Ambrose St., 14608.
Be it known that Mr. Davis was the same if not more of a strong fighter as we see in his good son Lynn. He finished his last days without any legs as they had each been removed due to circulatory problems, even with the absence of his first leg Mr. Davis could be seen riding his two seat motorized scooter with his wife along the sidewalks of Charlotte on regular occasion.
Lynn spent most of the last year tending to his dad on a rotating daily regiment with his brother by spending nights at the house so that they could be at the bedside when he woke in the morning to get him prepared for his day in the wheelchair. It's easy to consider that kind of dedication from Lynn because he carries that same spirit in both his work and play activities.
Please keep Lynn, his mother and the entire family in your prayers even though the constant attention is over it is NOT any easier to deal with someone that has been such a huge part of your life for so long to be absence in your life.
