So I'm searching around for unsailed windsurfing SITES on the internet, and lo and behold I find a familiar SIGHT on a Long Island Windsurfing SITE. Peconicpuffin.com.

On the second page of the Peconic Puffin's blog (January 23rd post) you can find Windkid Bill braving the elements on Canandaigua. Gettin some respect from the ocean sailors on Long Island!
The cool thing is, this blogger is pretty well know, and is evidently featured in the most recent issue of Windsurifng Mag...which somehow widkid has received already and I have not. The article in the mag is about winter windsurfing and I guess they must do their share down on "the island".
I've visited the site a couple of times because of the pics of the ice windsurfing...hoping for some glassy ice in the near future.
