All, As a newb with a grand total of 9 days of windsurfing to date I am trying to get some gear together to start sailing. Thanks to the wonderful generousity of folks like MikeyZ, BrianW, Gary, and Alan I am set up with sails, mast and board, but I am trying to chase down a few last parts and I wanted to see if anyone has a used mast extension I could buy from them. The only requirement is that I need one of the longer (standard diameter) ones about 16-19" long. Also, I currently have the kind loan of a harness from MikeyZ, but would like to buy a used one (34" waist) and some harness lines if anyone has some spares laying around. Also does anyone have a beater full wetsuit that would fit someone about 6' and 185lbs? Its getting chilly out there!!! Thanks again for all the kindness to newbies like me who are just getting started. I have been truly unprepared for the level of generousity that some of the folks on this forum have shown. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you guys out on the water! Cheers! Shawn sxh8733 at rit dot edu

Hi Shawn, Glad to see you are feeling the stoke for windsurfing and the local scene/sailors. I have a couple of used lines in my garage, but they are shorter "fixed lines. As you look for harness lines I would suggest trying to get some adjustable ones. Either ones that adjust on the fly, or are adjustable with a knot. Easier in and out of em. Good luck, and we'll see you and your new-to-you quiver on the water. WindyDoug

Shawn,
I have a serious wetsuit that has been used just twice, a mast extension and some harness lines that all need a home.. I'm 190 lbs so the suit should fit. I didn't like it because I sometimes sail alone and the nylon horizontal zipper requires help, but it's good clean modern suit that should work for you. Money's lame so if you can use it it's yours. The harness lines are adjustable, I switched to fixed so I don't need them. I have a mast extension can not be used with a pin style universal so hey it too is yours for a some wind! my cell # is 704 0991.....real name is Bill.

You guys certainly are wonderful people for helping us newbs like me and my friend Shawn out. Hey Shawn I just found out that Kenny Fourspring windsurfs. He has his gear here at RIT. He is new to our department so if you haven't met him go say 'hi'. He sits up on the 3rd floor in Joey B.'s old office. I just thought it was really strange that there are so many windsurfers that have come through our department. Brian W. did his undergrad here at CIS too! Hey everybody, heads up for friday! ENE!!!!! That will be a first for me! I want to see these waves down at Montana!!!

Shawn,
I was sailing at Seneca today and met a young lady named Amanda who was from Ithaca and said she knew you so I gave her the suit, lines and mast extension because she said she'd see you at a meeting tomorrow night and I'm not sure where I might be Thursday...
Hope it works out. Have fun at Dewey Beach!
