You poor guys in the Gorge Had to stop at 4.5m to get sailing in. (great idea so Doug & Bill didn't get spanked, but you both know that you owe Joe & Ted your first born male child for staying with you guys) Well let me tell you we sailed 6.5m on 110 leter boards (me on 85L) and I sailed during lunch, beat that! Ken Jones, Art Mayne and Mikey Z were at Durand (Art wasn't there long he missed the crowded conditions at the Gorge) not really he missed sailing 4.0m like in the Gorge. No wind in the future but Jones thinks there might be a day in August we can look forward to. H20 Rick I know the kiters were out but I was on the Webster side of the Bay so I didn't know who they were other than Lynn.

Rick did you sail up at Webster? When I showed up at Durand it was blowing pretty hard. I tried to go out on my 103L and didn't have much success. It was really cool being out in the surf, the waves looked great.
After a walk of shame I got my bigger board out and soon after Ken showed up. The wind started to die down so I rigged a 7.0. When Ken got on the water with his 6.5 the wind picked back up and I was slightly over powered for an hour. Then it was perfect 7.0 for another hour at least. Ken and I went way out and there were some pretty high waves (shoulder high i think). I chased a boat and was gaining on him but then I bored upwind as I was getting a little to far down the beach. That was pretty fun.
I would say it was a really good day on the water. I was out from about 11am until 4pm.
Cheers Fellas!

Mikey,
I didn't sail Webster Park on Thursday this site is off limits unless your an eel, too much green goo algae. I did sail a 6.3m on the Webster side of the Bay outlet for a short time from 11:30 till 1:00pm or so and went back to work I needed more board volume to make it worth my while being AWOL from work.
Sunday Wind. I scored a big play day on Sunday for the weather we had here. Steady rain all morning the Bay was calm as glass so Miller and I got to the ski boat early afternoon while the rain changed to mist then stopped. We had the Bay to ourselves until we both couldn't hang onto the rope. Got the boat back to the dock about 3:45 and the sun was showing and blue skys to the West. While I was driving home Greg Broikos called me to see if I was interested in a Hamburg late in the day road trip, I agreed and car pooled with him with the hopes the wind would stay in the mid 20's till dark.
He started with a 5.4 I with a 5.8 it got light so I gave him the 5.8 and I rigged the 6.3. As usual all the kiters and local sailers quit so it was just Greg and myself till 9:10pm. We were fortunate that the wind picked up at the end so we sailed fulled powered till dark. I thought the the wind was better than my mini session on Thursday.
Playday complete I was home at 11:30pm.
Gorge Guys will be back in Rochester end of the week. Hope they bring us all back some wind.
H2O Rick
