A cool panoramic style photo of Doug Couwenhoven (sp?) at Durand during Sandy's visit, was the header photo on the local section on Wednesday. I can't find it online anywhere, but way to go Doug.

I believe he was on the TV as well...just a brief glimpse in the background of the reporter discussing wind and waves.

Go Dougie Go! You too Dougie (the windsurfing Doug)!
But seriously, very happy to see him in the paper for favorable reasons and not for the Longpond kitemare that put him and his rig over the guardrail onto Edgemere Drive last fall. Ugh

Wow, I remember seeing his kite that day at Long Pond. I didn't know that was him. That makes two Dougs who have caused the authorities to jump into action. You'll recall my mast broke off Durand three years ago and the Coasties responded as well as the channel ten news van.

And again today! This time a full cover beach shot of kiter Doug on the Our Towns section of the D&C. Included is a cameo by Lynn Davis carrying his shiny new 5'10" Dialer with kite aloft.
Plus another panoramic from Wednesday's paper at Montana Beach showing my 10m in the foreground and more kites out to sea. Weird

Yeah, those shots were both taken on Halloween at Braddocks Bay. Lynn and I caught a small window just before it pushed offshore. I had never sailed at Braddocks before, but Jason caught a few sessions there and it turned out to be the only place that was sailable that morning, because the wind was ESE. When the water is low, there is actually quite a lot of beach there. Nice find Jason.
