Hey neat special link for Irene. Use it and love it. By the way they didn't send me East with the others for storm work, so now I hope I will get some sailing in. irene.windalert.comH20 Rick

An early tribute to Irene. Grab a Session beer, sit back and enjoy. This one is compliments from my nephew Ryan Casey. youtu.be/iEcG-dtvD8EScott

Went out to Sodus with my 8' surfboard and caught a few clean two footers coming into the bay from the channel. One guy (pat) out with a 5m kite.

Some windsurfer dudes did real nice at Montana and Durand, frankly I've never been so sore from NOT windsurfing. I feel like a bottle of shampoop; wash rinse and repeat. If you weren't paying attention to all the nuances of equipment and sailing technique the breakers were quite formidable. And then of course to make matters worse the kiters made it look easy. Hmmmm. And that's all I have to say about that!

quote skymongrel: "the kiters made it look easy" That's because in general it IS easy compared to windsurfing, and esp in onshore conditions. I've done both and props to all you windsurfers who gave it a go (regardless of rinse cycle count). I was on my 8m (dark blue RPM) with the surfboard today and did my best to stay up or down wind of the windsurfer flight path knowing what you guys were up against. Not to mention the beam reach from the launch was lousy with kiters! During our morning session I did a long reach down to Montana for a fly-by of the surfers and parlayed it into a mini-sesh with Rick who was sailing out of the inlet. Wahoooo!
