Whew.....I'm gonna forget somebody's name 'cause I'm wiped out from some great sailing. Apologies if I forget to mention you.
Tip the delivery boy because Seneca, well.....delivered.
Kinger, Windkid, Ontario Buoy, Shortboard Joe, Art (needs a nickname), Gary (ditto), Doug, Andy from Skaneateles (sp?), Syracuse Superfreak guy, Skymongrel, Keith S.(who brought the wind back) , and H2O Rick all hit the water on windsurfers.
Sited kiting were Greg, and Jason launching from the park, and Kel slicing the waves with some tricks at the Chamber.
The Iwind graph tells the story of how it blew and when, I'll fill in the on the beach activity. What a good group of people to be around when the wind isn't blowing..plenty of back breaking and even a couple of cold Sessions from Hood River to pass the time.
When the wind did kick back in after what really looks like the Kinger advertised 4.0, we didn't quite know what to ride. 6.5 big board, 5.2 little board...or big board...4.7 for a few. I had a blast on 5.2 and was looking for any little ramp to get some air and managed over 75% of my jibes. Smiles were all around!
The wind took a vacation as the clouds rolled in but after Keith arrived and rigged the wind got better, then he donned swim trunks and presto...5.2 returneth except Keith was holding his own on a 5.8. Pretty sure Rick got out on his Kode with a 6.3, but it was hard to tell from the Chamber as he and Scott headed to the park. Both looked good on the far side of Seneca.
I have left a bunch out I am sure.....help me out with a reply.

Yeah what a nice session at Seneca. Haven't sailed there much this summer sad to say. I arrived later just as Joe was coming in to downsize his board. I was greeted with "Ya watching or ya sailing?" Rigged up my trusty 5.6 Sailworks and my 87L. Fanatic Mamba for a great session. I came in to give my blisters a rest and the wind fell off. Swapped boards and got skunked pulling in by the canoe dock. Rick and I headed over to the Park. The lady at the toll booth said, "Someone was here earlier and said he couldn't launch because of the weeds, if that's the case come back and I'll give you your money back." Cool. A weed fin would have been nice. Launched at the beach with a 6.0 Neil Pryde and 115 l. Shark where the winds were not quite focused as they were towards the middle and I promptly got stomped. Rigged my 5.6 and R. French 90 l. Seatrend, recently pulled from the Rowe archives, and had a decent session til it fell off and I got caught in the hole and combed the shore for weeds for the quarter mile slog back to the beach. Good news was I really liked that ole Seatrend, smoothed out the chop quite nicely! I just need a better sail for it...hint hint. PS that Session beer really hit the spot. Thanks Bill.

oh... that last post was all about me. Should have mentioned that Rick had what looked like a super session after missing the earlier one at the Chambers. He rigged a 6.3 and his Kode, and was also overpowered but sailed through it nicely ripping awesome jibes down the waves and easily sailed back to the beach when if fell off to chew the fat with the kiters as I ...as I..slogged the quarter mile back to the beach looking for a take-out.

Anyone willing to post a chart for those of us w/o an exclusive iwindsurf membership?! At least give a couple readings/best guesses? I drove by around 2:30 with wife & kid in car and it looked like it might have been too much for my 11 (smallest kite). I went home instead, wondering if I missed out

When I arrived at the Chamber I was disappointed that the wind fell off & only 2 boards were on the water, even after I heard Joe's update that he was rigging down to a 4.8m.
After standing around too much Scott & I couldn't handle the What If? so we just left & went to the Park side. This seemed to be the thing to do & found wind at the beach rather than our standard marina launch. Yeah things were a bit over powered but after working for 8 hours I wasn't heading in for change; just to the shallow water for more Down & Out haul. Scott & I talked there about the conditions he asked what sail size I was using I told him 6.3. We both went back out but Scott headed in for a downsize shortly after. I trust it was more the 110liter board rather than sail
I was happy to know that the Kode 86liter I bought worked with a 6.3m sail so I worked it to feel what it could do, I even headed across the lake to the Chamber cause I could see a few sails in the distance. After getting close to the Chamber I noticed the wind speed was not as juiced as the middle & park side so I headed back thinking it was dieing again. Wind & waves were still good so Scott & I stuck with it, bathing suit & sunset, we stayed on the water till 7:00 Scott made the mistake of getting down wind so when it was light & weedy shallow water he slogged back. I worked my way up wind in the event the wind backed off so I would have an easy sail back to shore.
All in all I was on the water 2.5 hours and wouldn't have had much more in me.

The link work Rick, thanks! (sigh) Looks like I should have stopped. Glad you got to have some fun though! Actually glad to see alot of windsurfers, I feel like I haven't seen that many this year. Hopefully they've been out alot, just in different places at different times.

Here is the wind chart from Wed: By the way, major thanks to the windsurfer that helped me launch when I got there. I am sure I had that "ONLY THE SECOND TIME I HAVE BEEN ON THE WATER THIS SUMMER AND I AM GOING TO DIE IF I DONT GET OUT RIGHT NOW" look on my face!! I didnt even get your name, but thank you for launching me! Anyhow, it was so nice to finally get on the water!!! ;D

Hello, kiter Jason here. I've finally gotten around to posting after many a visit lately.
Very happy with Wednesday's bonus, post-work, sunset session. Arrived and Lynn was still out on his 11m so I rigged my 10m and hit it with the 5'8" Celeritas. Wind picked up a bit so I switched to the twin tip but it wasn't quite enough to get much quality boostage.
After a quick run on the skim board, I returned to the surfy and, after some bump-and-jump, pinched upwind about a half mile. Sat down on my board for a while just enjoying the scenery as the sun settled low over the water. The waves seemed to have smoothed and really enjoyed the broad reach ride back. What a great place! C u soon on Lake-O!!!! J
