does anyone know for sure whereand at what depth the nws gets its temp reading? thanks. Also when olcott beach is closed due to bacteria count, will authorities prevent windsurfing? How is fort nniagara on N or NE wind?

I feel like someone told me the meter is a mile out and ten feet down. Other than that I have no clue. I was in the water off Durand last night and it was well over 70 degrees so who knows.
With any luck I'll be in the water off Durand again tomorrow, this time with a kite!
