I'm in a group on Facebook that keeps posting about great days at Olcott. Sounds like mostly from Windsurfers...anyone know if its kite friendly?
My guess is its better than Rochester in a west wind but not as good as Hamburg and if you're going to drive an hour & 15 min you might as well drive an hour & 25 min to hit Hamburg.

yes Eric is a windsurfer, as am i. can't help on olcott, as far as kiting.Im seeing reports of cold water from lake ontario; has it 'turned over'? Does this result in the same 'bubble effect' we experience on lake erie?

NOOA has been showing temps of around 50 degrees for 3 weeks and the water's been over 75 every time I've been in it. No idea where that sensor is located but I wouldn't swear by it. I haven't been in it since Sunday so its possible it turned but I doubt it.
What is the bubble effect? When the cold water on the bottom comes to the top we call it upwelling...is bubble effect another name for it?
