All, It was a great day at Seneca, and for the interested reader, a link to my TR is below. After a brief hiatus, there are more tales on the way of my antics as a budding windsurfer. At the encouragement of many friends and mentors, my future trip reports will be at: monofilmtuxedo.blogspot.com/I'll send out a few more reminder emails the next time I post a TR, but if you want to make sure you don't miss a post, hit the little RSS button up in the upper right hand corner of your address bar after you click on that link. Thanks! Shawn

Shawn, we were all seriously concerned for you out there. I would of pooed my wetsuit if I were you, nice job keeping it together, and nice job not becoming a burnt piece of toast.
In other news. After the morning session at Seneca on Sunday the wind came back in the late afternoon. I headed to Long Pond and got a few runs in on my 7.0 before the wind died.
Sunday turned out to be a great day. I checked out Webster and found what looked like 7.0 conditions. I unfortunately could not sail because of the amount disgusting rotting algae. The entire launch was coated a chocolate milk shake like goop that extended 12 feet out into the water. I decided to check out Durand and found very puffy, very side shore conditions. Just before I left the wind started to touch in. I put a message up on the windline and Gary, Doug, David L showed up. Rick G. launched from Montana, but didn't quite make it up wind to Durand. Two other kiters were there whose names I can't remember. It was a very solid 8.5 day with plenty of power. I probably got over 3 hours of good sailing.
Today looks like it will happen up at Durand in the afternoon. Gotta get some work done first though. Three days in a row in rochester?!? we're getting spoiled up here.

Shawn,
Great storm story! Very happy that you are around to write it!
I was up at 6am, planning to get to Seneca early but was faced with an emergency home plumbing problem - sadly missed the day. But I did watch the storm front travel through on radar.
It was fast and furious and when it came through Rochester it pounded the area with rapid lightning strikes like I had never seen before.
Good job keeping your cool and making sound decisions while in the thick of it.
Goal number 1 - live to sail again!
